Vitamin C Injection
[Indications]
(1) It is used for treating scurvy, and can also be used as an adjuvant therapy for various acute and chronic infectious diseases, as well as purpura.
(2) Treatment of chronic iron poisoning: Vitamin C promotes the chelation of iron by deferoxamine, thereby accelerating iron excretion.
(3) Treatment of idiopathic methemoglobinemia.
(4) The following conditions increase the requirement for vitamin C: ① patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis, gastrointestinal diseases (long-term diarrhea, gastrectomy or ileectomy), tuberculosis, cancer, ulcer disease, hyperthyroidism, fever, infection, trauma, burns, surgery, etc.; ② patients receiving parenteral nutrition due to strict dietary control or dietary restrictions, malnutrition, rapid weight loss, as well as during pregnancy and lactation; ③ patients taking barbiturates, tetracyclines, salicylates, or using vitamin C as an acidifying agent for the urinary system.
