Ornidazole Injection
[Indications]
To reduce the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria and ensure the effectiveness of ornidazole and other antimicrobial agents, ornidazole should only be used to treat or prevent infections proven or highly suspected to be caused by sensitive bacteria. When selecting or modifying antimicrobial treatment regimens, consideration should be given to bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test results. If there is no data from these tests for reference, empirical treatment should be based on local epidemiology and pathogen sensitivity.
Before treatment, bacterial culture and drug sensitivity testing should be conducted to isolate and identify the infectious pathogen, and determine its sensitivity to the antimicrobial drug. Prior to obtaining the above drug sensitivity results, the antimicrobial drug can be used for treatment. After obtaining the drug sensitivity results, treatment targeting the pathogen can be selected.
During treatment, bacterial cultures and drug sensitivity tests should be conducted regularly to determine whether the pathogenic bacteria remain sensitive to antimicrobial drugs, and to detect the emergence of bacterial resistance in a timely manner.
Ornidazole injection is only suitable for patients who are not suitable for oral administration.
